Walk/Bike to School

There will be two Walk/Bike to School Days, one for Fall 2017, and one for Spring, 2018.

The Fall Date is October 4, 2017!!

There will be four separate organized groups walking to Greenbelt Elementary School from around the Greenbelt area:

  • Corner of Hedgewood Drive and Lastner Lane (Boxwood)
    meet from 8:15 am; start walking at 8:30 am
  • Greenbelt Community Center Lawn (Downtown/Westway)
    meet from 8:15 am; start walking at 8:30 am
  • Spellman Overpass and Gardenway (Greenbelt East)
    meet from 8:15 am; start walking at 8:30 am
  • Plateau Place and Ridge Road
    meet from 8:30 am; start walking at 8:45 am

Fire Up Your Feet

MEANWHILE – you can also help us try to earn some cash! How? By walking or biking to school!

Fire Up Your Feet is a free program that encourages families, students and schools to create active lifestyles.

A total of $6,000 will be distributed, with a top prize of $1,000, and smaller weekly prizes going to eligible schools in the greater Washington, DC area. The more participants at your school, the better your school’s chances of winning awards to fund new gym equipment, bike racks and other programs that help get kids active!

Get Started for the Fall Activity Challenge Today:

  • Go to http://www.fireupyourfeet.org .
  • Click “Get Started,” and register now! (You will be asked to choose Greenbelt Elementary as your school.
  • Earn awards by tracking activity during the fall challenge, October 1-31.
  • Encourage others at your school to register!
